Quicksilver by Blacktree is a versatile launcher. Among the many options available when using Quicksilver is the ability to select a phone number stored in your Address Book (Contacts) database and send it to Dialectic for dialing. To do this, you need to enable the Dialectic Quicksilver Action from the extras section of the Dialectic preferences. Note: The option to enable the Quicksilver Action will only be visible if Quicksilver is installed on your system.
Once the Dialectic Quicksilver Action is enabled, to use it, follow these steps:
- Launch (or quit and relaunch) Quicksilver.
- Using Quicksilver, search for and highlight a phone number.
- Press the tab key and then type “Dial” which will highlight the Dialectic action for Quicksilver.
- Choose the action to run (using the mouse or the arrow keys) and then hit enter.
The selected number will be dialed by Dialectic using the current Location & Dialing Rules. Please see the Quicksilver documentation for more information.
You can also use Quicksilver to launch AppleScripts to control Dialectic such as switching the current Location or retrieve your Quick Dial entries. For example scripts (and other items) that could be used to integrate Dialectic & Quicksilver, see the Dialectic Online Resources:
