The Quick Dial feature is essentially a speed dial implementation but enhanced as you can easily add & edit entries, include an unlimited number of contacts, enable speech dialing for them, and have them available for all your dialing devices at once (landline, Bluetooth mobile, softphone, etc.). The phone numbers that appear here are completely up to you. You might use the Quick Dial menu to store phone numbers you use very frequently, numbers you are using temporarily but don’t want to add to your Address Book, and so forth.
Selecting a Quick Dial number will send the selected number to Dialectic for dialing using the current Location & Dialing Rules.
You can access your Quick Dial entries from several locations:
- Quick Dial drop-down menu of the main window
- Quick Dial submenu of the main menu.
- Separate Quick Dial menu.
- AppleScript
Menu items for the Quick Dial menu are created as name-number pairs. The name and number together, with a colon between them, will function as the menu item text. Further, the first 9 items in the menu will automatically be assigned keyboard shortcuts Command-1 thru Command-9. See the links below for more information on adding, editing, importing & exporting your Quick Dial numbers.
