The contents of the Call Log can be exported in a variety of ways:
- Add Selection to Quick Dial Numbers. Select a call entry and then choose this action from the action menu to append the selected phone number and associated name (if available) to the bottom of the Quick Dial list.
- Add Selection to Address Book. Select a call entry and then choose this action from the action menu to append the selected phone number and associated name (if available) as a contact to your Address Book database managed by the Contacts application (and opens the contact in Contacts for further editing). If the number is already associated with an existing contact in your Address Book, that contact’s card will open in Contacts but it will not open in edit mode.
- Save. Click the “Save” button to export the log contents as a separate file. There are three formats available for saved log files:
- Plain Text. A tab-delimited text file suitable for import into a database.
- XML A structured XML file in the plist format. This is the same format that Dialectic uses for storing the log and can be used to archive the current log for future reference.
- HTML. A complete HTML file suitable for display in a web browser. When viewing in a browser, each name and number is a link that you can click to tell Dialectic to dial the number (this magic depends upon the dialectic URI scheme).
- Email. Click the “Email” button to create a new email in your default email client and include the contents of the Call Log as the body of the new message.
- Print. Click the “Print” button to print the contents of entire Call Log or export it as a PDF document.
