The text below should (hopefully) clarify how to dial with your voice. To make this more clear, we have created a screencast that may be more helpful (requires an Internet connection):
Many phones now support voice dialing. To enable this, they often have you pre-record a command and associate it with a number stored in the phone. While this is helpful, it limits voice dialing to only complete numbers for contacts you’ve entered and configured with a voice recording.
Dialectic also features a version of this by enabling the Speakable Items option of the Quick Dial feature. However, Dialectic offers another method for voice-enabled dialing that is much more powerful.
Instead of limiting the contacts that are available for dialing by voice, Dialectic allows you speak individual digits and symbols (e.g., pound & asterisk) to string together complete numbers that were not previously entered or configured for voice dialing in Dialectic. In addition, since Dialectic offers a single entry point for dialing nearly any phone or service, this voice-enabled dialing feature allows all of your connected devices and services to be dialed by speaking the number.
To enable this, from the main menu (or a hotkey) select “Enable Speech Dialing” then, when the speech widget appears, say, “Dial Number” to open the main window. Speak the numbers to dial (e.g., two, one, two, etc.) and, when you’re done, say, “Dial Now” to place your call. It’s that easy!
