Google Quick Search Box (QSB) is a versatile search & launch tool. Among the many options available when using Google QSB is the ability to select a phone number stored in your Address Book (Contacts) database and send it to Dialectic for dialing. To do this, you need to enable the Dialectic Google QSB Plug-In from the extras section of the Dialectic preferences. Note: The option to enable the Google QSB Plug-In will only be visible if Google QSB is installed on your system.
Once the Dialectic Google QSB Plug-In is installed & enabled, to use it, follow these steps:
- Launch (or quit and relaunch) Google QSB. If prompted to enable the Dialectic plug-in, click the “Always Enable” button.
- In QSB, type in the first few letters of the contact in your Address Book you want to dial.
- The QSB results should reveal the contact, use the arrow keys to move up or down to select the desired contact.
- Press the right arrow key to see the contact’s data items (e.g., phone numbers, email addresses, etc.).
- Use the up or down arrow keys to select the desired phone number.
- Press the right arrow key to choose the action to trigger for this phone number.
- In the actions, highlight “Dial with Dialectic” and press return.
The selected number will be dialed by Dialectic using the current Location & Dialing Rules. Please see the Google QSB documentation for more information.
