Dialectic does not natively interact with FileMaker Pro or other databases (a notable exception is ProVUE Development’s Panorama database which does offer a conduit for dialing with Dialectic). However, using either Dialectic's AppleScript capabilities or the dialectic URI scheme, you can integrate dialing into your database with relative ease.
For examples of embedding AppleScript into your FileMaker Pro database, see the examples provided in the Dialectic Online Resources:
http://www.jonn8.com/dialectic/resources/
In addition, many databases offer a method for accessing your data with a web-based interface. The template used for this interface may be customized to add hyperlinks to phone numbers included in the database. Using the dialectic URI scheme as the protocol for phone number hyperlinks, you could add dialing from your database through Dialectic with relative ease.
If your database software supports access using AppleScript or some other API that could be scripted using AppleScript (e.g., a command line tool or a web-based API), then further interaction between Dialectic & your database could be scripted. For instance, when an incoming call is detected, Dialectic could run a script to open the associated contact record in your database (if available) and append a new note to the contact with the date & time of the incoming call. Please see your database documentation for more information.
